Full Contact Without High Pressure

Electrode surfaces are rough terrain. Traditional separators are somewhat rigid. When you lay them on top of the electrode, the frequent result is "interfacial discontinuity." That's another way of saying there are gaps, or voids, between the electrode and separator. Even when you use high pressure to force the surfaces together, these voids remain. This disrupts electron flow, causing hot spots that reduce cell performance and ultimately hurt cycle life.

All electrodes expand and contract with every charge cycle.  With less flexible separators, this repetitive motion degrades cell materials at the electrode-separator interface.

SYMMETRIX® separators easily conform to the surface of the electrode and flex as the electrode expands and contracts. This superior structural bond yields consistent power performance, cycle after cycle.  High compression is not required.
